— As the IoT landscape scales, Digiwest recognized the urgent need for a sophisticated SaaS command center capable of bridging the gap between complex hardware and intuitive management. Commissioned by Digiwest’s leadership to satisfy the necessities of their clients and the operational needs of their internal teams, DOT was born out of a necessity for total corporal and digital transformation.

DOT is more than just a dashboard; it is an essential digital pulse designed to synchronize diverse client needs with seamless internal oversight, a solution born from Digiwest’s mission to turn technical complexity into operational clarity
More than just an acronym, DOT signifies the connection between the physical and the digital. Digiwest of Things was conceived as the definitive link in the IoT chain, designed to simplify the vastness of device management into one seamless experience. Our mission is to connect the dots between technical errors and operational success
At Digiwest, the challenge lies in translating technical power into a tool users actually trust. For the DOT project, I acted as the bridge between legacy infrastructure and a total UX rebirth, aiming to erase the stigma of a previously unused system. The result is a platform that shifts the perception from "inutility" to essentiality, turning complex IoT data into a high-value asset for both clients and internal teams
Approach

By spending three months auditing the legacy platform and learning its specific technical language, I mapped every essential feature into extensive userflows while stripping away the friction of the original system. Through rigorous benchmarking and data mapping, I ensured the new architecture was a precise reflection of both client-specific needs and the diagnostic requirements of Digiwest’s internal teams
By conducting extensive user testing on the legacy platform, I evaluated real-world behaviors to identify where the current system failed to meet operational demands. Supplementing this with focus group sessions, I utilized indirect questioning to peel back the surface-level requests of the team, uncovering the foundational needs of the interns and clients rather than just their perceived wants. This behavioral audit allowed me to bridge the gap between user expectation and the high-precision reality of the DOT ecosystem
Process
With a "map-first" philosophy, the architecture was established through a persistent geographic overview across all breakpoints, ensuring users instantly recognize device status at a glance. On desktop, this evolves into a high-performance analytical dashboard where a streamlined side menu provides global navigation, while a contextual control panel offers immediate data insights and action shortcuts for any selected device
By integrating dedicated modules for ticket management, client support, and advanced device diagnostics, the new architecture fosters a direct connection between the user and Digiwest assistance. These strategic additions ensure that clients feel prioritized and supported, while empowering internal employees to abandon undocumented manual methods in favor of a reliable, data-driven diagnostic environment they can finally trust.
My design philosophy for DOT centered on reclaiming user trust through , transforming a once-fragmented system into a high-performance workspace where data feels empowering rather than overwhelming. By prioritizing a customizable dashboard, I enabled both professionals and clients to orchestrate their own experience—shaping personal shortcuts and info cards to turn a complex IoT overview into a precise, intuitive reflection of their operational needs.
Final Design
The foundation of the DOT reform was the realization that trust is built through transparency and agency. As DOT continues to evolve through iterative interviews and testing, the initial impact of the visual transformation has already sparked a significant shift in pattern-breaking. By replacing uninviting layouts with intuitive device markers, action shortcuts, and a modular library of info cards, we have fundamentally altered how professionals consume information. Teams that currently rely on fragmented manual notes or discarded files explicitly affirmed a preference for the dashboard’s streamlined interface.

Even in its ongoing phase, the reimagined DOT platform has already achieved a critical organizational milestone: shifting company culture. By delivering a tangible, high-fidelity vision of what the platform could be, my work directly influenced stakeholders to increase their investment in the product’s future.
Furthermore, the design served as a catalyst for internal reform. Seeing the clarity of the new architecture sparked essential, company-wide conversations around the necessity of standardized documentation and digital organization. The greatest achievement of this phase wasn’t just a visual makeover—it was using design to realign the company’s internal habits and secure the resources needed to bring DOT to life.
